Junction were an emo band ahead of their time. With their first release landing in 1991 and their discography, presented here, released in 1995, they are one of the earlier bands to experiment with post-hardcore\emo, fusing it with sounds borrowed from alt and indie rock. Their strong sense of melody and combined male\female vocals must have been a major influence on the emo pop bands of the latter half of the 90s. Calling Junction emo pop, however, would be a stretch. This is emo done the late 80s, early 90s way, just with a stronger pop sensibility than usual. For a deeper look into the band, I recommend reading this excellent writeup.
