Month of Birthdays

Month of Birthdays were an emo band from the UK. They put out all three of their releases on Subjugation, a label that hosted a few other great emo bands, including the celebrated Bob Tilton. Their sound constantly rides the line between angular, atonal post-hardcore\emo and midwest emo. Sometimes they sound like early Rainer Maria, and sometimes they sound a lot like Boys Life's first album. Then again, sometimes they sound a lot like Departures and Landfalls too. In short, Month of Birthdays are awesome.

Their first album is a bit less focused than the excellent second album, Lost in the Translation. I always appreciate interesting packaging and Translation has it, coming in a gatefold sleeve covered in braille. Aside from these LPs, they have a seven inch and a couple compilation tracks.
