Meridians Divided

Meridians Divided were a band from Elgin, Illinois. I wish I had known about these guys way back when, because teenage-me would have loved them. These guys were working in the same vein as The Appleseed Cast at about the same time. This is music deeply inspired by early to mid-90s midwest emo, from when it was closer to what was happening in alternative rock. In other words, there's not much Mineral in this album, and a whole lot of Sunny Day Real Estate. Seriously, listen to "twenty-two calendars" and tell me that chorus wasn't made for Jeremy Enigk. There's even some distinctly Christie Front Drive guitar work mixed in on occasion, and some very Texas Is The Reason chords.

The 2001 album Blind appears to be their only full length, but there is some other material that I haven't been able to find. The band's old Angelfire website mentions a CD EP and there's a cassette demo listed on Discogs. They also have an additional song on the Erudition Project compilation.
