Sterling Silver

Sterling Silver were an emo band who played in that great late 90s tradition of emo pop, before it shifted heavily towards pop punk. They have it all: mathy breakdowns, occasional strings, male\female dual vocals, and lots and lots of midwest twinkling. They toured with Kind of Like Spitting and The City On Film, which is a bill that makes a lot of sense and would also be a great evening. Their sole LP was released on Slowdance in 1999, and it looks like they called it quits soon after that; I'm not sure if they were still playing together when they contributed 'Melodica' to the Slightest Indication of Change compilation in 2000, but that was their last release. The band's website was active into 2001, so perhaps they broke up that year.

Prior to the album, the band put out two releases in 1998, a 7" and a split tour CD. There are also a handful of unique compilation tracks. I only have a physical copy of the LP, but I've included the rest of their small discography in the download.
